Mojito - Quick, Easy and Very Tasty

This summer we are all looking for a nice refreshing drink that doesn't cost too much. When using the SodaSparkle you save on soda and you don't waste as you only make 1-1.3 liters at a time.

Try out this quick and easy Mojito recipe.

Ingredients:

Recipe makes 1 cocktail
10 fresh mint leaves
1/2 lime/small lemon, cut into 4 wedges
2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
1 cup ice cubes (Crushed works nice too)
45 ml white rum (Leave out for a virgin Mojito)
1/2 cup club soda (Follow the instructions to make 1 litre of soda with your SodaSparkle)

Directions:

Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

Sit back, soak in the sun and enjoy your refreshing Mojito!

SodaSparkle, the future of home made soda!

I have had the opportunity to test the latest product on the home soda market called SodaSparkle.

Most of us grew up with traditional bulky home soda systems such as the SodaStreams or SodaClub. Although these units served their purpose they could hardly be called portable.

With all the hype over living “green” these systems are a great way in helping to conserve the environment.

So what’s the difference between traditional soda systems and the SodaSparkle?

SodaSparkle has been engineered to be as portable as possible. They have achieved this by utilizing compact individual CO2 cartridges that can carbonate up to 1.3 litres of water. The cartridges are readily available. Each cartridge is a single use only and is fully recyclable. It’s so easy to carry it with you I have found my husband taking it along to braai’s so he always has fresh soda on hand for drink mixes.

They have created great tasting natural and sugar-free flavour servings which you add directly to your glass. I find this so convenient when you have more than one child and each one likes their own flavour.

SodaStream has been the leading brand for many years and can cost up to anything between R700 to R3000 depending on the product you choose.

SodaSparkle on the other hand offers a far more compact unit at a much lower price. You can get your own SodaSparkle Buy-Direct at only R299, which includes the soda maker attachment, 1.3 litre bottle with cap, 5 CO2 cartridges, and 15 natural and sugar-free flavours. Additional soda bottles, CO2 cartridges and flavour servings can be purchased.
